Polish builders looking for contracts in Russia

10 August 2012

It’s just a month since the EURO 2012 championships ended in Poland, but Polish builders are already looking for new contracts, the daily Puls Biznesu reports. Today, however, their focus is on Russia, where the football World Cup is planned for 2018. Their efforts are being supported strongly by the Polish government, along with the Pro Economic Construction Club foundation and the state-owned company PL 2012.
The first talks to persuade Russian decision-makers to enter into partnerships with Polish contractors are due to begin in October. β€œWe will show them our stadiums, railways stations, airports and many other developments we have built, and we will be asking about their requirements,” says Robert Kaniewski, a member of the Pro Economic Construction Club foundation. β€œWe need to hurry, as many countries with much stronger export mechanisms have already appointed their envoys,” he adds.
