Polish businesses begin are increasingly seeking new export channels to the east of the country, according to recently released EU data. Sales by Polish suppliers over the first four months of the year increased in Russia by 29 percent (reaching €2.3bn), while in Ukraine, demand for Polish products grew by 21.4 percent (to €1.1bn). While trade between Poland and these two countries is not enormous, Polish companies could find partial relief from the deteriorating economic situation in this widening of its horizons.
