Polish businesses sign deals with Americans

21 June 2012

At least three companies have managed to conclude deals during the Polish-American economic summit. Boeing, Sikorsky and Westinghouse announced today that they’d reached agreements on significant deals that have been in the works for some time. The biggest of them is the five-year, USD 350m contract signed by two Polish subsidiaries of UTC group, PZL Mielec and the Sikorsky concern. “It’s an agreement for the production of the cabins and tail cone for US Black Hawk combat helicopters. We have just conducted the talk on the five-year contract to provide 600 helicopters, worth $7.3bn, and it is almost certain that and agreement for another $1.2bn is to be signed also in the near-term,” said Mick Maurer, the new CEO of Sikorsky Aircraft. It’s the biggest deal ever signed by PZL Mielec.
