Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski says he intends to focus mainly on the recent events in the Middle East and Europe during his Washington visit that’s taking place in May, adding that the upcoming NATO summit in Chicago will also be taken up. Sikorski expressed his concern about Article five of NATO’s treaty that states that an attack on one of the NATO ‘s member would be interpreted as the attack on the whole alliance. According to Sikorski, the issue needs to be discussed in view of the latest decision on withdrawing US forces from Europe. “We will talk about what the US can do to convince us about the importance and executability of Article five in view of the withdrawal of a part of the forces from Europe,” Sikorski said. The talks are also to include recent reports on the situation in Belarus.
