The Polish Council of Ministers has proposed a minimum wage of PLN 3,000 in 2022 and the minimum hourly rate for specific civil law contracts in 2022 at PLN 19.6 gross, the Ministry of Development, Labor and Technology (MRPiT) announced.
“The Council of Ministers adopted a proposal regarding the minimum wage for work in 2022 in the amount of PLN 3,000 and the minimum hourly rate for certain civil law contracts in 2022 in the amount of PLN 19.6” it announced in a statement.
According to the proposal of the Council of Ministers, the amount of the minimum remuneration for work would increase by PLN 200 compared to the amount applicable this year (PLN 2.8 thousand), ie by 7.1%. On the other hand, the minimum hourly wage for those working under specific civil law contracts would increase by PLN 1.3 compared to the amount applicable in the current year (PLN 18.3), it was also stated.
These proposals will be submitted by the Minister of Development, Labor and Technology – on the authorization of the Council of Ministers – to the Social Dialogue Council for negotiations.
The proposed amounts will now be negotiated with the social partners. Negotiations should be completed within 30 days from the date of receipt of the proposal. the amount of the minimum wage, then decisions in this regard will be made by the Council of Ministers by way of an ordinance.
The amounts established by the Council of Ministers may not be lower than the amounts proposed to the Social Dialogue Council for negotiations.
