According to data released by the Polish Financial Supervisory Office KNF, pension funds activity made a strong return to the regional market during the third quarter of 2012. Furthermore, the average return rate increased month-on-month in the last quarter of the year. According to KNF, 16 million Poles have money in open-ended funds, reaching PLN 252bn by the end of 2012.
At the beginning of July, open-ended pension funds received PLN 2.2bn from the Polish Social Insurance. The funds’ overall profit reached PLN 9.7bn by the end of last year.
