Polish warehouse take-up hits 4.3 million sqm in 2017

Demand for warehouse space in Poland increased to 4.3 million sqm last year, up 30 percent y-o-y, according to Savills. A total of 2.4 million sqm of new space was completed in 2017. The largest projects were three warehouses built for tenants from the e-commerce sector. Two were developed by Panattoni and one by Goodman; each of them covered more than 100,000 sqm. Total warehouse and industrial stock reached 13.5 million sqm at the end of 2017. More than 465,000 sqm of warehouse space was completed in Warsaw, while in Upper Silesia new supply stood at 402,600 sqm. In Central Poland, 310,300 sqm of new space was completed last year. At the end of 2017, 1.4 million sqm of warehouse and industrial space was under construction, according to Savills.
