Polish złoty falls to its lowest level since January

14 May 2012

The Polish currency fell to its lowest level at the beginning of the week, despite Poland’s Monetary Council raising the rates earlier this month. The euro rose PLN 0.5 against the złoty reaching PLN 4.29, while the Swiss franc hit PLN 3.57, up by almost PLN 0.4. Still, the dollar is the one that remains the strongest currency of late, thanks to the threat of the Greece leaving Eurozone. The US currency has reached the level of PLN 3.33 showing an increase of as much as PLN 0.5 at the end of last week. The last time the Polish currency was so weak was in January.
