Prime Minister Victor Ponta said that he would not be a candidate in Romania’s 2014 presidential election, because he feels he is not old enough for the job. However, he did not rule out the possibility of running for president in 2024.
Ponta says a president should be more than 50 years old. Ponta will be 52 in 2024. The prime minister said he will endorse National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Crin Antonescu for president in 2014.
