The Austrian builder Porr, which operates its local team in Poland, is considering taking over Bilfinger, the daily Puls Biznesu reports, in effort to upstream its road infrastructure investments in the country. “We’ve established ourselves as a general contractor for cubature and railway investments in Poland. With this recent step [to take over Bilfinger] we aim to become a solid partner for road infrastructure projects in the country, which is expected to benefit from EU’s subsidy program in the coming years,” Karl-Heinz Strauss, CEO of Porr told the daily. He expects the country’s construction market to grow up to 7 percent this year, much faster than Austria, Germany, or Switzerland, that are expected to grow by just 2 percent.
