Portuguese consumer loans fell 64% in April

Banco de Portugal released data demonstrating that the total volume of new consumer loans decreased 64 percent in April year-on-year to €203m. The total volume of loans for education, health, renewable energy, and equipment leasing reached €955m. Other personal loans with no specific purpose, household, consolidated and other purposes fell by more than 60% in April, compared to April 2019 and came to €97.92m. In concrete terms, the number of new consumer loans, 62.8 percent to 43,446 contracts concluded in April.
