The village of Sabugueiro in the municipality of Seia, Serra da Estrela, will be the first “Smart Village Mountain” in Portugal. The location will see the installment of new technologies aimed at improving the quality of life for its inhabitants. In partnership with the Vodafone Foundation and the Municipality of Seia, the Smart Mountain Village project aims to make the village of Sabugueiro a showcase of good practice and innovation, transforming it into an icon in terms of environmental sustainability, creative economies, urbanization, mobility and new technologies. Organizers haven’t revealed, however, the size of the investment that’s to be made.
