Prague 14 is looking for a company to build a house in Černý Most for half a billion crowns

7 February 2022

Prague 14 has announced a tender for a company that will build a building with apartments and public services near the Černý Most metro station for an estimated price of CZK 500 million. This follows from the public procurement bulletin, and the mayor of the city district, Jiří Zajac (ODS), confirmed the tender. The building should have about 70 apartments, a branch of the city library or an information center.

“This is a construction of a multifunctional building with affordable apartments, especially for people of the so-called preferred professions, a contact point of the office, a restaurant and a branch of the Municipal Library in Prague. Zajac previously said that the city hall will want to obtain subsidies to finance the construction.

The surroundings of the Černý Most metro station, including the bus terminal, have been in poor condition for a long time. Last year, the city’s Technical Road Administration (TSK) began repairs to leaking structures above the bus platforms. This year, according to earlier information, the terminal should expect further modifications, such as the installation of a new information system, the replacement of lighting, benches and baskets or a new transition between platforms.

In addition, the city is planning major construction modifications to the terminal. The city’s Institute of Planning and Development was responsible for preparing a study of changes to transform the metro station into a local center with services for local residents and to connect the terminal with the adjacent square.
