14 June 2012

Prague has been listed as the 15th most expensive European city for expats in the Mercer’s latest Cost of Living Survey. Moscow is the most expensive in Europe, while Tokyo is number one globally. Prague was ranked 69 on the global list. The survey includes 214 cities worldwide and considered the costs of 200 items, such as food, clothing, transport and entertainment. Housing costs play an important role in the ranking as do currency movements against the US dollar. According to the global human resources advisory Mercer, the cost of living has dropped in the majority of European cities compared to New York city, which is used in the study as a benchmark.
