The city of Prague 6 will sell land around the plot where Hotel Praha once stood to Petr Kellner, owner of the PPF financial group. The deal will earn the city CZK 50m, writes Hospodářské noviny, and it clears the way for PPF to build a boarding school called Open Gate. City deputies agreed to the deal after extended discussions, despite the opposition’s objections that the decision should have been put off until after upcoming municipal elections in October. The city sold the five star hotel Praha for CZK 501m in 2002. The school is scheduled to open in 2017.
