AFI situation in Karlin has taken a turn for the worse. Prague 8’s administration says it will appeal against a planning permit the local construction office issued on August 7, again throwing into doubt the developer’s plans to build its AFI Karlín Business Center office project. “The Prague 8 city council approved the appeal today,“ says the Prague 8 mayor Jiří Janků.
The construction authority will then forward the documentation to the City of Prague to decide. AFI Karlín Business Center was designed by CMC Architects as a 22,000 sqm office project, to be built in two phases along Pernerova Street on a plot AFI acquired four years ago from Karlin Group. The step by Prague 8’s administration is said to stem from protests by local residents who would prefer to see a park or at least a residential development on the site.
