The Václav Havel Prague airport has set a passenger record for the third straight year, breaking through the 16 million mark in the first half of December. By the end of the year, it expects to have served nearly 16.8 million travelers, which would represent a 9 percent increase from last year. The Czech capital’s airport has been one of the fastest growing airports, according to the daily iDnes, recording a 9.3 percent increase in the third quarter of 2018 compared to the European average of just 5 percent. On average, 46,000 passengers use the airport each day, with the most popular destination being London. New check-in counters in Terminal 2 are among the investments the airport will be completing in the coming year in order to keep up with increasing demands upon its capacity.
