Prague council coalition members renew their vows

28 April 2016

After six months of bickering and inaction, Prague’s local political leaders have finally signed a new coalition agreement and re-newed the coalition that’s led the city since the last elections. The Social Democrats, ANO, and the Trojkoalice grouping should, in theory, return to running the city. The first test of the coalition ability to agree on anything was the election of four members to the Prague city council, a task that was successfully completed with the choice of Karel Grabein ProchĆ”zka (ANO), Petra KolĆnskĆ” (SZ), Irena RopkovĆ” and Daniel Hodek (both Social democrats). The coalition came apart in October, when tensions escalated between Prague mayor Adriana KrnĆ”ÄovĆ” and her deputy Matěj Stropnický.
