Prague cuts off payments to Metrostav

17 April 2012

The City of Prague has stopped paying Metrostav invoices for construction of the Troja bridge, a part of the inner city ring road. Metrostav won the tender having offered to build the bridge at CZK 495m, when the city asked for a different version of the bridge to be built, Metrostav came back with a price of CZK 1.1bn. However, that’s more than twice the CZK 465m the company Questima thinks it should cost, a claim that’s apparently sparked the city into action. It’s now demanding Metrostav hand over evidence about the real costs for the construction of the Troja bridge.
