The City of Prague is hoping to persuade a number of landowners to sign a statement allowing the construction of the D metro line to move forward. The step comes after the Supreme Court rejected an appeal by the city to overturn a lower court’s decision to cancel a change to the master plan that was necessary for the development of the fourth metro line. The planning change, canceled in July 2015, greenlighted construction of the new metro line across land in the vicinity of Thomayer hospital in Prague’s Krč district, as well as between the planned Nové Dvory and Písnice stations. The area served as a land bank for the city. The court canceled the master plan change because the documentation failed to explain the absence of a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). City officials are currently in negotiations with the landowners who filed the challenge in court, promising they will work together on a study of the potential development of the land.
