Prague metro passengers are waiting for several closures this year due to repairs

7 January 2022

Passengers in the Prague metro are waiting for several exclusions this year. The reason is the replacement of sleepers on routes A and C or security repairs. The first closure will take place at Easter and the last in November. When asked, DPP spokeswoman Aneta Řehková announced this today. Traffic in the subway also stopped several times last year, most recently last October on route C.

The first closure will take place on route C, from 15 to 18 April. The company will exchange wooden sleepers for concrete ones between the Muzeum and I.P.Pavlova stations and at the Vyšehrad station. They will replace a total of 640 sleepers.

The operation will also be interrupted from 2 to 10 July, when workers will exchange 500 sleepers in the section between Budějovická and Kačerov stations. The exchange will concern the second track. From November 17 to 20, the workers will then continue the exchange of sleepers between the Museum and I. P. Pavlov and at Vyšehrad, where they will exchange another 630 sleepers.

The closures will also affect metro line A. The section between Skalka and Depo Hostivař stations awaits the replacement of wooden sleepers with concrete ones. The company will work here from July 2 to 6. From 28 to 30 October and from 17 to 20 November, the train protection computers will be reconstructed in the same section.
