Prague to build new P+R garage in Černý most

26 January 2018

The city of Prague has paid CZK 70m for a 492 sqm plot of land in Černý most in order to build a new P+R garage on the site. The two-level garage will have a capacity of 880 cars once construction is finished at an estimated cost of CZK 225m. It’s part of the city’s long-term plan to reduce traffic congestion in the center by improving public transportation access to out-of-town visitors. The existing P+R lots in Černý most are full to bursting every weekday morning, as they don’t come close to meeting the level of demand. It’s a problem repeated around the city, which has identified nearly a dozen locations where similar facilities could be built.
