Prague 1 wants to redesign Revoluční street, which connects Nám. Republiky to the Vltava River in the center of Prague. The municipality said it is willing to invest CZK 350m to broaden the sidewalks, plant trees and build a staircase that connects the street with the Vltava riverbank. Prague 1 Mayor Oldřich Lomecký said that the city’s aim is to improve the street but not to indulge in excesses such as a proposed cableway going from the river up to Letná. Lomecký also said he supports the Novomlýnská brána project, designed by Eva Jiřičná, near the river on Revoluční as well as a redesign of Švermův park in the same location.
