The City of Prague plans to start leasing the Holešovice Exhibition grounds in Prague 7 through the city-owned company Rozvojové projekty Praha (RPP). RPP will take over management of the exhibition area from long-time operator Incheba whose lease expires at the end of the year. Incheba paid the city CZK 20.8m annually to operate the grounds. Václav Novotný, chairman of the RPP board and Prague’s deputy mayor, says RPP will start managing the exhibition grounds in January and is currently working out leasing conditions and prices. It will start booking events in September. In addition to Novotný, RPP’s board includes Petr Bříza (TOP 09) and Karel Klíma (ČSSD) who has served as director of the exhibition grounds. The city is planning to renovate the complex’s landmark structure, the Průmyslový palác, and should build a new railway station for the area.
