Prague will renovate the Central Park in the South City

The Prague City Hall is planning modifications to the Central Park in the South City, which is located between the Opatov and Haje metro stations. Yesterday, the city councilors decided to enter a tender for adjustments with an estimated value of CZK 78 million. Representatives will still vote on the tender. The city plans to build a café, toilets and an amphitheater in the park, among other things.

The municipality has modified parts of the park in the past, and the now planned contract should be final. The aim of the construction is to transform the hitherto unfinished area of ​​the park with the addition of facilities in the form of facilities, which are now significantly missing in the park, the approved document states. The city administration also approved a set of land shifts that the municipality should acquire into the ownership of parts of the park that are now privately owned.

The modifications concern the central part of the park, which makes up about two thirds of its area. According to the approved document, the works will include, in addition to the construction of a café with facilities and an amphitheater, landscaping, sidewalk and cycle path modifications, addition of benches, a grill and drinking fountain, construction of sewers, planting of greenery and lighting. Work should begin this year and end in 2024.
