From June, Pražská plynárenská will increase the price of gas for some customers, on average by 39 percent. The price increase will affect households that use the Standard price list or products linked to this price list. Customers using various fixed price products and price products not linked to the basic price list will not be affected in any way by the price increase, spokesman Miroslav Vránek announced today. Pražská plynárenská is one of the largest domestic suppliers of energy, supplying approximately 425,000 consumption points with gas and electricity.
For a household that uses natural gas for cooking in an apartment with an annual consumption of 0.4 megawatt-hours (MWh), the monthly costs will increase by 36 crowns. For a household that uses natural gas for cooking and heating water in an apartment with an annual consumption of four MWh, the costs will increase by CZK 363 per month.
Prague’s gas prices have also risen since April 1, when the price of gas in the basic price list rose by an average of 15.7 percent. Previously, the company increased in a similar way since December 31 last year, by 7.3 percent.
“With this change, the company waited for the end of the heating season in order to reduce the real impact on customers. stated by Pražská plynárenská.
According to the published price list, one megawatt-hour of gas will cost 2957.1 crowns as of June 1 when used only for cooking. This is the total price, including distribution system services and other supply services. In the price list valid from April 1, a megawatt-hour cost CZK 2,057.1. With annual gas consumption of over 45 MWh and up to 63 MWh, ie in the case of households that cook, heat and heat water, the price of one megawatt-hour will rise to CZK 2,673.82 from June from CZK 1,773.82 in April.
The management of Prague wants to lend up to two billion crowns to the municipal company Pražská plynárenská to buy gas for the next winter. The loan was approved by councilors on Tuesday, and the deputies will decide on it at their meeting at the end of April. Councilors also approved a so-called patronage statement for banks with which the company lends. The reason for the support is gas prices, which have been rising sharply since last year.
According to Vránek, deposited guarantees, whether at the market operator or at other suppliers or operators, play an important role in terms of cash flow, the volume and price of stored gas and, last but not least, payment terms on the supplier and customer side. Pražská plynárenská purchases most of its supplies primarily at virtual points of sale from large energy suppliers. The volume of purchased gas ranges from 12 to 15 terawatt hours per year.
For example, innogy does not plan to raise prices. “Innogy increased the prices of natural gas for the Standard product by 19 percent already in March. We are not planning a further increase in prices,” company spokesman Martin Chalupský told ČTK today. According to today’s findings, ČTK and ČEZ will not become more expensive.
