Poland’s premium auto market had a strong 2012, according to the daily Puls Biznesu, with three top makers hitting new sales records. There was a total of 19,984 new BMW, Audi and Mercedes cars registered last year in Poland, which reflects an increase of 1,949 cars compared with 2011. The most popular premium car brand in Poland is BMW, with 5,555 new vehicles registered last year, up by 21.9 percent from 2011. Audi came in second, with 5,111 new cars registered in Poland in 2012 (+23.54 percent), followed by Mercedes, with 4,838 (+12.28).
According to Wojciech Drzewiecki of Automotive Research Institute Samar, the increase in sales is the result of the market’s lower starting point. “The premium automotive market is a small sector of this business. That’s why the chances for improvement are much greater,” he said.
