President of InPost: I am not leaving the company anywhere, I am not going to sell its shares

Rafał Brzoska, the founder and president of InPost, declared that he did not intend to resign from the company’s governing bodies or sell its shares. In this way, he once again referred to media speculations, according to which InPost is of interest to a potential acquirer – incl. CVC Capital Partners and Hellman & Friedman.

“As for my declaration, I am not able to answer for [private equity fund] Advent, but I am not going anywhere, nor do I consider selling shares. As you know, over the last few months I have been extensively buying shares at various price levels, so it speaks for itself,” said Brzoska during a press video conference.

“Nothing has changed in terms of these rumors that appeared in the public domain. As a company, as a management board, we do not conduct any talks with any partner regarding a potential public or private transaction,” he added.

Bloomberg said on Friday, citing unofficial information, that InPost is of interest to a potential acquirer and that several investment firms such as CVC Capital Partners and Hellman & Friedman were investigating the possibility of a deal. On Monday, InPost announced that it is not currently conducting talks with entities interested in its acquisition.

“I will say more, as a shareholder and member of the management board – nothing changes in our perspective and long-term strategy, we are determined to develop InPost very strongly and very quickly in Poland and abroad, deliver the right return on investment for shareholders and implement the strategy we took during IPO,” pointed out Brzoska.

“We understand that a low share price may make you want to look at the company in the way it was disclosed in the press, but for this you still need a consensus with the company’s main shareholders. So nothing has changed in this matter,” he added.

Listed as a potential buyer, CVC has, among others, Żabka chain.

“When it comes to our cooperation with the Żabka chain, we have established a pilot program, we are developing our indoor machines in Żabka stores. They perform above average well, I would say – even better than we initially assumed. It is an obvious synergy that we can and want to develop on the Polish market. And here nothing has changed,” said Brzoska during the conference.

InPost is a delivery platform for e-commerce. Established in 1999 by Rafał Brzoska in Poland, InPost has a network of parcel lockers in Poland, Great Britain and Italy, and also provides courier and fullfilment services for e-commerce sellers in Poland. In July 2021, he finalized the acquisition of the French company Mondial Relay. In January 2021, InPost made its debut on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange.
