Prices of secondhand flats skyrocketing in Bratislava

10 November 2016

Prices of secondhand flats in Bratislava have jumped by €22,000 on average since last year. Over summer, they grew by 4.9 percent to a record high of €2,131/sqm, up 10.2 percent y-o-y. Bencont Investment warns that prices of secondhand flats are rising faster than prices of newly built flats. Bencont analyst Matúš Jančura says one reason for this is that buyers can move immediately into secondhand flats, while only 10 percent of new-builds are completed by the time they are sold. In Bratislava’s Old Town, prices jumped 15.3 percent, while in Bratislava IV, they rose by a mere 6.3 percent.
