Private management for Romanian state-owned companies

16 March 2012

For the first time, three state-owned companies are to get private management.
The chemical producer Oltchim, military supplier Romarm, and the energy company Hidroelectrica are to be the first companies hitherto run by the state to get private management, said Lucian Bode, Minister of Economy, Trade and Business Environment.
The initiative is part of an agreement with the International Monetary Fund, and it will be extended to other companies, including Electrica Furnizare, Tarom, SNLO, CFR, CFR Passengers, Nuclearelectrica Transgaz, Transelectrica and Romgaz.
