Profits at UniCredit Czech Republic and Slovakia rise 12%

4 August 2016

The UniCredit Bank in the Czech Republic and Slovakia reports a half-year profit of CZK 3.5bn, which marks an improvement of nearly 12 percent compared to the same period in 2015. At the same time, the bank’s assets grew 13 percent to nearly CZK 633bn. UniCredit’s general director Jiří Kunert said the growth was down to a rising volume of retail and corporate loans as well as the result of international transactions, such as the acquisition of Visa Europe. The bank’s loan volume rose 4.9 percent to CZK 373.2bn, while deposits climbed 12 percent to CZK 372.2bn.
