Prologis opens 32,500 sqm distribution center for Globus in Prague

16 March 2016

Prologis has officially opened a 32,500 sqm BTS facility it completed for Globus Hypermarket Holding at Prologis Park Prague-Jirny. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by several Globus representatives, including owner Thomas Bruch and logistics director Ondřej Zíka. Prologis’ senior vice president and regional head for Central and Eastern Europe, Martin Polák, and the mayor of Jirny, Stanislav Skořepa, were also in attendance. The new distribution center, located next to Globus’ existing and recently renewed 28,916 sqm facility at DC4, features temperature-controlled spaces for the preservation of an assortment of dry and refrigerated goods, as well as fresh food and produce. “Prologis was able to offer us additional space for a ‘one-roof solution’ to optimize our operations within the park, a key factor in our decision to nearly double our distribution space here,” said Ondřej Zíka, Globus’ logistics director.
