PSA will “gradually and securely” resume production at its Opel engine plant in Szentgotthard, about 270 km west of Budapest. The French company is the latest car manufacturer to announce plans to resume activity on the Hungarian market after coronavirus restrictions were put in place by the government in March, joining Daimler, Suzuki and Audi. BMW, however, said it would postpone opening its Debrecen production plant by one year. PSA had suspended its operations in Hungary on March 23. Production will resume first on its three-cylinder turbo PureTech petrol engine, according to company representatives.
