The Swiss company Batagon International is interested in buying Fabrika Akumalatora in Sombor, Serbia, and have offered €3.5m for the factory. The estimated value of the bankrupt company has been set at €24.57m. The bankruptcy supervisor and Board of creditors will be deciding on how to react to the bid, taking into account that the factory needs major investments, new management and employees, new equipment and a plan for environmental protection. The factory has not been in operation in years and has therefore lost considerable value. The potential buyer initially offered €1 million to bring the factory back to life and that it could create up to 500 jobs.
