PZU unfolds IT innovations in its battle with newcomers

Poland’s biggest insurer PZU has introduced a new IT system for the company, Andrzej Klesyk the company’s CEO said on Friday, an innovation that could save millions. The amount of the investment still under wraps, but Klesyk said the amount was in the hundreds of millions. “The company could save up to PLN 20m annually on the implementation of the system. The back office costs should also come down, after the process is complete in 2015,” says Andrzej Klesyk.
PZU’s new system is a part of the insurer’s broader plan to expand its market share by making it able to compete with new businesses that have hit the market over the past few years. The system was delivered by Guidewire.
