Bulgaria’s Finance Ministry says that preliminary data suggests the country is currently running a budget surplus of €949.4m as of the end of March, which is 2.1 percent of the project GDP for 2016. The main reasons behind this surplus are increased tax revenues and cost cuts in January-March compared with the same period of 2015.
The Finance Ministry will publish data about consolidated budget revenues and spending for the first quarter of 2016 at the end of April.
