CTP, owner-developer of prime industrial and logistics property in Romania and CEE, has convinced Quehenberger Logistics to move their entire logistics activity for Brico Depot Romania to CTPark Bucharest West. To fulfill the logistical needs of the company, CTP invests over 35 EUR million in the construction of the new warehouse.
Quehenberger Logistics, CTP’s client that operates the logistics activity of Brico Depot Romania through Kingfisher, moves all its Romania operations to CTPark Bucharest West located at 20 km on the Bucharest – Pitești Highway.
The new warehouse that CTP is building will have 102,000 sqm, with 12 drive-ins and 105 docks. The building will be BREEAM Excellent certified, and will have over 55,000 sqm of green space, 100% LED-lighting and gray water treatment and reuse facilities. The construction works will be completed by the fall of this year.
“We’re happy to see that our longterm partners trust us and choose to work with us for this project. Moving the entire logistics activity in our park represents the confirmation that we managed to build a trust-based relationship and achieve great results” says Ana Dumitrache, Country Manager CTP Romania. “We’ll build the new warehouse with the highest quality standards, with our experience as a developer of premium class logistics parks while also taking into consideration the customisation needs of our client.”
Alexandru Catana, Regional Managing Director Quehenberger Logistics ROU added ”We can only say that we are honoured to be the sole logistics operator of Brico Depot Romania, a fact that brings us to the position of being a strategic partner in their development on the Romanian market. We have been able to develop and strengthen our collaboration with the Kingfisher group over the years, while having our friends from CTP close whenever we needed their help to meet a new request from our customers. We want to thank them all for being close to us in these uncertain, difficult times.”
Quehenberger Logistics operates the logistics activity for companies like Selgros or PPT inside CTP parks for over five years, having rental properties of over 150,000 sqm. Kingfisher’s decision to move Brico Depot’s operations to CTPark Bucharest West is based on the trust build between the two companies developed over past years, but also taking into account Brico Depot’s need to have more efficient logistics on the Romanian market.
Burak Gurcan, Logistics Director at Brico Depot stated “As Brico Depot, we continue growing and optimizing our operations in Romania. In order to support that ambition, we constantly align and improve our logistics network. After merging our two separate legacy logistics networks under one with our partner Quehenberger in CTP Park, now we are looking forward to merge our separate facilities under our new dedicated mono block DC provided by CTP which will help us giving excellent service to our customers while improving our operational efficiency and logistics costs.”
CTPark Bucharest West is strategically located 20 km away from the city of Bucharest, at the second exit of the A1 highway. Currently, the park offers more than 300,000 sqm for rent for over 100 companies in the e-commerce and logistics sectors.
