Romania’s Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Health, Raed Arafat, was the most popular public figure in Romania last year. According to an opinion poll conducted by IMAS in February, 76.1 percent of respondents trust Raed Arafat. Second place in the confidence rankings is still occupied by Romania’s King Michael, who enjoys 28.8 percent (down from 36.6 percent).
President Traian Basescu, Prime Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, Social Democrat party leader Victor Ponta, and the Liberals, Crin Antonescu, have to add their confidence rankings to reach 78.2 percent and pull ahead of Arafat.
The IMAS survey was conducted between in the second half of February.
