Raiffeisen to sell Esterhazy palace in Bratislava

2 November 2015

Esterhazy palace in Bratislava is going under the hammer. This tired historical complex on the Kapitulska pedestrian zone in central Bratislava will be auctioned off on Nov. 10 in the city of Levice, near Nitra. The owner of the property, which includes 2,500 sqm of land, is the Austrian-Slovakian company Agoria Projekt, which acquired the palace in 2006 intending to redevelop it into a hotel. The daily SME writes that the developer failed to complete the project because of financial difficulties confronted by the Austrian owners. The financing bank, Raiffeisen in Vienna, has put the palace, built in 1658, on sale. The value of the property has been estimated at €2.84m.
