Rail disaster takes 16 lifes

16 people were found dead and about 56 were injured after two trains collided in the Polish town of Szczekociny on Saturday evening. The collision took place at 9 p.m. on the Warsaw-Kraków line, when one of the trains has been traveling on the wrong track, Ministry of Transport confirmed. Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister of Transport have both come to the scene, “This is our most tragic train disaster in many, many years,” said Prime Minister Tusk. “We all sympathize with the victims, and above all the relatives and families of those who died in the crash.” he continued. Officials predict that the investigation might take several months, before it would become clear how the Warsaw-Kraków train has ended up on the wrong track. Poland’s President Bronisław Komorowski announced that the 2-day national mourning. “The scope of this disaster is sufficiently large to warrant national mourning,” said President Komorowski.
