Rail link to airport to be restored

23 March 2012

The Romanian railways company CFR Calatori is reintroducing the “Henri Coanda Express” line running from the Bucharest Nord train station to Otopeni Airport.
The company will run the route for months before evaluating its effectiveness, in an attempt to improve access to the airport.
Low-cost flights are being moved from the Baneasa airport to Henri Coanda beginning March 25.
The train will run once an hour from 6:25 to 21:24. Single tickets will cost RON 8.10 while monthly passes will be sold for RON 136.
Train service was discontinued over the winter for lack of demand.
