Randolph Equity Partners, which owns the Bahia Cabana Beach Resort has proposed a land swap with the city of Fort Lauderdale. Randolph has submitted plans with the city to redevelop the site into a $160 million mixed use facility. The plans call for a 196 room hotel (up from the proposed 70 rooms), a luxury 112-unit condo complex, a new marina, restaurant, retail and gallery spaces. Randolph would build on the current Bahia Cabana site at 3001 harbor Drive and the two neighboring parcels at 1001 and 1015 Seabreeze Boulevard. The two Seabreeze parcels are owned by the city of Fort Lauderdale and house a fire station.
Randolph has offered to swap the plots for a .38 acre site it owns at 3109 Harbour Drive, where it would build a new $4.5 million fire station. Also being offered to the city are 150 parking spaces from the project’s new parking garage. The plans will be reviewed in detail and brought before the city commission.
