Slovak entrepreneur Igor Rattaj has sold Snowhill, a company that operates six ski resorts in the Czech Republic. Two Czech businessmen, Daniel Kučera and Martin Vokatý, paid CZK 47 to 50m (€1.7m to 1.8m) for the company, wrote the daily MF Dnes. Snowhill operates Herlíkovice and three other ski areas in Krkonoše, Kašperk in Kašperské Hory and Marianka ski resort at Mariánské Lázně. Rattaj bought Snowhill a year ago, but claims in the end that the company did not fit into his plans.
Rattaj is a co-owner of Tatry Mountain Resorts, an operator of ski resorts in Tatras. Vokatý was a member of the board at Skiareál Špindlerův Mlýn, an operator of the best known ski area in the Czech Republic. He plans to keep only the areas in the Krkonoše mountains and to offload the rest.
