Romanian Business Leaders, the Romanian capital organization, appreciates that the support measures for entrepreneurs have not really achieved their goal. Thus, although the grants dedicated to the private environment have been discussed since May 2020, the implementation of the three types of grants has not been completed so far.
“We were seduced and abandoned. Let’s be clear: we really appreciate the Government’s openness to dialogue with entrepreneurs, but it has to go from words to deeds. The major problem currently facing IMMs directly affected by the pandemic is the delay in the evaluation and payment process on Measure 2 – the working capital grant. Although last year there were promises that the payment will be made by December 2020 at the latest, the money is still uncollected. Moreover, only 4,000 of the 19,000 registered businesses have so far managed to benefit from this support measure. We consider that it is mandatory for the Ministry of Economy to present and publicly assume a concrete calendar for the completion of evaluations and payments “, says Dragoş Petrescu, vice president of Romanian Business Leaders.
“We welcome the opening of the investigation into this situation and consider that the only objective solution that could restore entrepreneurs’ confidence in this grant is to cancel the initial session and relaunch it in fair conditions for all participants and on the basis of a scoring grid to ensure transparency and objectivity,” mentions RBL.
