Real estate investments expected to reach EUR 1 billion by year end

8 September 2022

The volume of real estate investments for Romania in the second quarter of this year is estimated at approximately EUR 257.4 million, a value almost 4 times higher than that recorded in the first quarter of 2022 and 13 percent above the same period last year, according to an analysis carried out by the real estate consulting company JLL Romania.

“We expect that investment volumes in 2022 will reach approximately EUR 1 billion, although exact forecasts are difficult to make in this period due to market uncertainties,” says Alexandru David, Head of Research at JLL Romania.

“Despite the economic uncertainties generated by the increase in inflation and energy costs, the real estate market in Romania experienced a positive evolution in the first 6 months of 2022 in all main segments. Given that there are many challenges ahead, some adjustments are possible until at the end of the year, and overall growth rates are likely to be modest,” he added.
