Reconstruction of the Neretva hotel in Mostar is scheduled to begin in January. Completion is planned for 2020 and costs of reconstruction will be about €8.7m. The investors claim the hotel will be part of an international hotel chain, but its named has not been revealed. The original Neretva hotel is a national monument, having opened in 1892. This means that its exterior must remain the same and be restored during the reconstruction, and that its original decorative elements must be recreated. The interior of the building, however, can be designed according to the specifications of the hotel operator.
