Record crowd cheers two dozen prizes at the Romanian CIJ Awards 2015

The biggest crowd ever, one filled not just with Romania’s biggest real estate companies, but its top investors, filled the InterContinental hotel in Bucharest for the CIJ Awards 2015 Gala evening.
There were many companies and people who took home winners’ plaques on Thursday, there were a few standout performances. Skanska, for example, won a host of awards: Office Lease of the Year (Carrefour – Green Court Building B) and Land Investment Transaction of the Year, for its 21,306 sqm deal with PUMAC. It was also named 2015’s ESSA Green Developer of the Year. In addition, its managing director for Hungary and Romania took home the Leadership of the Year prize.
CBRE also excelled at this year’s Awards, collecting several of the most important agency awards: Office Real Estate Agency of the Year, Retail Real Estate Agency of the Year and Industrial Real Estate Agency of the Year. It also won the Property Management Team of the Year.
On the non-commercial side of the business, Coldwell Banker won the Residential Real Estate Agency of the Year honors. The Residential Development of the Year as well as the Residential Developer of the Year awards were both taken by Opus Land Development for its project Cosmopolis.
AFI Europe, itself no stranger to stage appearances at the Romanian awards, took home a pair of prizes. Not only did it win the Office Development of the Year prize for AFI Park 3, but it was also named Commercial Developer of the Year for 2015. The successful developer and investor NEPI also made a pair of appearances, winning both the Retail Development of the Year award for Mega Mall and also for Peek & Cloppenburg’s lease at that mall.

The increasingly competitive industrial sector produced a pair of winners. Immofinanz took home the Industrial Development of the Year award for LOG.IQ Bucuresti, while CTP won both the Lease of the Year (for its agreement with Quehenberger at CTPark Bucharest West), while its acquisition of the Prologis industrial park earned it the Industrial Investment Transaction of the Year accolades.
Other companies honored with prizes at the CIJ Awards 2015 were Optim Project Management (Project Management Company of the Year), PeliFilip (Law Firm of the Year), Vlad Simionescu & Asociatii Arhitecti (Architectural Firm of the Year), and Bog’Art, which won the Constructor of the Year prize. The German investor GLL won Office Investment Transaction of the Year for its purchase of the Floreasca Park building, developed by Portland Trust. Finally, the ESSA Leading Green Building of the Year prize went to Moldova Center.
