The total amount of money collected by the Czech toll system for trucks during 2017 hit a record CZK 10.4bn, an increase of 5.2 percent over 2016. Industrial developers active in the Czech Republic had a banner year in 2017, so it’s no surprise that trucking activity was up. Nor is it a shock that December saw the biggest contribution to the state budget from truck tolls: CZK 749.7 million, though the all-time record of CZK 960m was set in November 2016. The busiest day of 2017 in terms of trucking was October 26, while the busiest week of 2017 was the 49th. Trucks have paid more in tolls almost every year since 2010, when the state collected just CZK 6.5bn.
