Referendum halts UBM project in Prague-Klánovice

15 October 2014

UBM has run into a hurdle with its Villa Park Klánovice project, set to go up along the border of Prague’s Klánovice and Horní Počernice districts. In a referendum vote held over the weekend, nearly 60 percent of Klánovice residents objected to the developer’s plans to connect Villa Park Klánovice to the local infrastructure.
UBM, however, is not giving up on the project. “We will further discuss the project with new local leadership after the municipal elections in Klánovice and Horní Počernice. We believe that we will find solution acceptable for all parties,” said Simona Kulhánková, the manager of UBM Klánovice. In the meantime, the developer is seeking compensation for damages from Klánovice and the City of Prague.
