The company MD logistika opened another freezer warehouse in Dašice in the Pardubice Region. It cost over 75 million crowns. The capacity of the company’s warehouses in the Czech Republic has thus increased by about a fifth, said CEO Robert Kuchar.
“We decided to invest due to the continuing demand of customers for quality storage space, which applies especially to frozen goods. For this reason, we have already contracted with existing and new customers,” he said.
The freezing chamber has an area of 1778 square meters and a basic arrangement of 3692 pallet places. The standard temperature in the warehouse is minus 24 degrees Celsius. The warehouse inside will offer 33,900 cubic meters, holding about 112 full trucks of goods.
The C10 building is immediately adjacent to the newest C9 refrigerated warehouse, opened in 2017, and is also comparable in size. “The layout of the building is similar to that of the C9 and together with it it is one of the largest undivided freezing chambers in the Czech Republic,” said Milan Stránský, Technical Director of MD Logistics.
In the warehouses, LED lights are lit, which do not radiate too much heat in the refrigerated space. Warehouses do not have columns, which allows greater variability in the arrangement of goods. The new chamber uses an existing engine room with a hybrid ammonia vapor condenser for cooling and combines dry and wet condensation. Waste heat from the engine room heats the seamless floors, which protect it from cracking. It prevents the subsoil of the building from freezing. The facade of the building is clad with white trapezoidal sheets, on the east side it will be overgrown with greenery.
MD logistics in Dašice is preparing another investment, it is in project preparation. It is a dry warehouse with a capacity of 40,000 pallet places.
According to the company, the location of the warehouses in Dašice is suitable for fast service of the Czech and Slovak markets and the region of Central Europe. The section of the D35 motorway Opatovice nad Labem – Časy has been in operation since the middle of last December, the adjoining section Časy – Ostrov with the exit to Dašice should be completed this year. “Thanks to this, we will gain a fast connection to the motorway network, and Dašice will further strengthen its strategic position approximately in the middle of the former Czechoslovakia,” said sales manager Kateřina Kačírková.
